You are required to submit one report for this class. A well-written report should be at least 500 words.
Grading: Concert reports are graded on your effort (rather than accuracy) to listen analytically and describe what you are hearing. Be as specific as
you can. In order to receive full credit, you must demonstrate proper concert etiquette by arriving on time and staying until the end of the concert,
and answer all the questions listed below. If your report contains information copied and pasted from another source, or lacks proof of attendance
(meaning it lacks the details needed to prove you were there), you will receive a zero. I do not grade on grammar, but please do take the time to
proofread your report and correct errors before submitting.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please keep your program and ticket stub until you have received a grade for your report. I may ask you for proof of attendance if I
feel it is necessary.
Your concert report needs to include the following:
Title of event/name of performance group or artist
Date and time of event
Location of event
Title, composer, and musical description of the first piece on the program (at least 4-5 sentences)
Title, composer, and musical description of the last piece on the program (at least 4-5 sentences)
You also need to answer the following questions:
What did you learn about attending a classical music concert that you did not know before?
What did you observe about the etiquette of the audience members?
What did you observe about the etiquette of the performers?
What did you enjoy most about this concert? What did you enjoy the least? Be sure to explain your answers.
Would you recommend this concert to a friend? Why or why not?
Are there any additional comments you would like to add?
